Portable Chargers and Battery Cases by Orion HM With everyone using technology these days (especially students), the use of mobile devices is a must-have for a lot of people. The only problem is that they work on battery power and once that’s out, you could easily become lost or lose contact with the people outside of your shouting distance. Of course, you could always carry around a charger and a wall plug-in, but how safe is that exactly? If you can't be beside your phone while it's charging, someone could easily take it and make it their own, or if there's no wall plug-in anywhere around you, you're quite frankly out of luck. That's where the portable charger comes into play. If you carry a fully juiced-up portable charger around in your pocket, you might never have to worry about your phones batter percentage ever again. You could also get a battery case. A battery case goes around your phone just like a regular phone case but it has an extra battery inside of it so you basically have two batteries for your phone. That could change student life a lot. Battery cases and portable charger has been around for a long time, but it seems as if not many people know about them. If you are now thinking about buying a portable charger after reading this article, there are very cheap ones on the internet. If you get one, make sure to put your name on it so that you don't get it mixed up this someone else's. If you're thinking about getting a battery case, be you and be stylish!

Denmark Hits the Jackpot.
Denmark finds a Viking fortress from the 10th century
An incredible discovery for the Danish people happened on September 29th when archaeologists found a Viking fortress from the 10th century, in 2014, but new tests say that it was most likely built by Danish king, Harald Bluetooth. Each part of the ring forts that where built were in different parts of the country, which has shed a new light on a network of Danish military sites built by Harald, according to the archaeologists that discovered the scene. While some historians argue that the ring forts were a genuine military fortification followed the same pattern as circular earthworks and wooden ramparts, with gateways at the four cardinal points of the compass. But there were other theories about this discovery, others proposed that they were mainly built as regional symbols. The structure of the fortress was a perfect circle, and the 5th Viking fortress to be discovered since the 1930s. But there has been a total of 7 located in Denmark and Scania, and Sweden. Much of the fortress can't be seen from above, but scientists used a high-revolution light detecting and ranging (LiDAR) mapping to see the ruins in full and complete detail. Other techniques including geophysical survey and targeted small scaled action excavation revealed that the fortress belongs to the Trelleborg style. Researchers believe 'Borgring' is the first monument in this style to be discovered in Denmark in more than 600 years. Archaeologists used carbon dating to discover how old the monument is by testing two different wood samples from the fortress near Køge. Torben Dehn, a special consultant at the Danish Agency for Culture, said; "Detharvirkeligværetenopdagelse, der læggerdanskkulturarvpåverdenskortet" (In English it would say: It's a discovery that has put Danish cultural heritage on the world map). Three of the other fortresses are included in the 'Viking Age Sites in Northern Europe', althoughthey aren't sure if it'll be included in theUnited Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organizations (UNESCO) World Heritage Site list. Their research will decideif'Borgring' willbe included on the list or not. Denmark and Sweden are the ones that are currently applying for UNESCO's site. 1. Name

Vicious Earthquake Rocks Mexico City By Nadia J. 200 people found dead after the magnitude of 7.1.
Mexico City is going through a chaotic earthquake that has killed more than 200 people including 21 children, and the death toll is still rising higher and higher. The magnitude is 7.1, and if you don’t know what that means, it is very bad. On September 19, the earthquake hit about 75 miles southeast Mexico City, which caused extensive damage, leveling at least 44 buildings, including homes, schools and office buildings, according to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, who did a flyover of the city Tuesday afternoon.
September 19th was also the day that they were celebrating the 32nd anniversary of the biggest earthquake to strike the country’s capital in 1985 which killed about 10,000 people. It just so happened that they were doing an earthquake drill, 2 hours before it happened. You can also donate to Mexico to help them out, which would be much appreciated by the Mexicans. During an aftershock on September 25, a 3-month-old child died during her baptism, as did 12 other people. But thankfully, the majority survived. Also, a 6-story building collapsed while crews sifted through the debris. At least 40 people are missing who are thought to have been inside the building. The death toll has climbed up to about 330 people, according to Luis Felipe Puente, Mexico’s civil protection coordinator. Rescuers are still putting in all their efforts in, even though there is predawn rain, to find those still trapped in the rubble could last “for at least two more weeks” and will continue until it is “absolutely certain” no one else is missing.
On Sunday, the body of a woman was recovered from a collapsed school in Mexico City where at least 19 children and 7 adults where killed. Mexico’s capital was heavily affected, with 187 killed. There was also 74 deaths in Morelos state, 45 in Puebla state, 13 in Mexico state, 6 in Guerrero state, and 1 in Oaxaca, according to the latest figures Monday night from authorities.

The Miller Family by Jessica M.
The Miller family is a very interesting family, the history of that family comes all the way from the Philippines to right here in Edmonton. Jessica and Jayden Miller both go to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. From Jessica and Jayden’s mother’s side is their great grandpa. Their great grandpa is Leon Mampusti, he petitioned the government to make Bansud (a city in the Philippines) a municipality and when the federal government approved his request he was elected the first mayor of Bansud for about 25 years.
Now from Jessica and Jayden’s dad’s side is their grandpa, Arthur Miller, which started a family business with his two brothers, Evalt Miller and Richard Miller. The business that they started is call “Alberta Stamp And Marking Ltd.” This family business has been open for over 50 years and is still open to this day. After Arthur, Evalt and Richard retired my uncle, Rick Miller took over his role in the business to keep the business in the family. Eventually my uncle quit and decided to become a politician for the liberal party but unfortunately died from prostate cancer 4 years ago. Now Alberta Stamp is run by Jessica and Jayden’s father Donald Miller with their aunt, Denise Miller and their uncle Lesley Miller by his side

The new electronic will have a 12.9 inch screen, including water resistance, a slimmer and lighter slate, and no headphone port. Not much is known about the ipad pro 2 yet but the cost of the device will be around $799 the original Ipad Pro was $599 so with both Ipads having a similar price, it won’t be so easy on the wallet.
Oh The Internet! by Gracie A.
Ah the internet, we all use it. Whetherit's for social media, school work, or to contact family and friends. No matter what you use it for, it is a major part in our lives. Now the Internet can be used in a good way, but also a bad way. Some of thegood ways are scientificallyincredible like Facetiming a family member far awayor seeing your friends Instagram post from Mexico. Whatever it may be, the internet is fascinating. Yet, the internet isn't all lollypops and rainbows, sometimes there are some not so nice things on the internet, including: cyber bullies, scam accounts and more. Cyber bullying is probably something you’ve heard before. This is a terrible thing that happens to some people when they are on the internet, they get bullied. The bully thinks that just because there behind the screen, it wont effect that person, but it does. Maybe not physically, but emotionally. If you are ever the victim of a cyber bulling act, you can always talk to a teacher, parent, or guardian, they will help you with what's going on. Though the internet isn't all bad, and isn't all good, it’s a place you can go to research anything! Weather to help with school work, or just for fun, always remember that when you are on the internet, to stay cyber safe!

Youth Led Masses By: Diana E
The Roman Catholic parish St. Agnes is including the youth in their masses! Youth masses are the fourth Saturday of every month. You could take part in a youth mass, along with me! We need some choir members for our youth choir, as there are only a few singers with more people playing instruments than singing. Youth choir practices are November 19th, from 2:30-4:00, and November 26th 4:00-5:00, and the mass is November 26th at St. Agnes, starting at 5:00, on the same day. There are no scheduled dates for December yet.
If you’re in the junior high- high school age group, then you’re eligible for entry, but you should be baptized in the Catholic Church. We need; choir members, readers, gift bearers, and altar servers. To be an altar server you need your first Eucharist. You can contact the coordinator for the masses, if you’re interested, and you meet the requirements, at [email protected]. Her name is Cathy.

Creepy Clowns on the Loose by Heavenly S. Creepy clown sightings began in late August, starting in Greenville, South Caroline when a little boy spotted a figure lurking. Ever since, these murderous looking clowns have been seen in North and South Caroline, Georgia, Alabama, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
In South Carolina, a little boy ran to his mother and told her that two clowns were trying to lure him into the woods. Things were much worse in New York City, where three murders have been linked to people dressing up in these costumes. As time has passed, the stories have grown. Across both Canada and the United States, these "killer clowns" have been popping up on social media, making threats to school kids. Most recently this has started to take effect in Edmonton. Harry Ainlay High School was put on lockdown due to threats made on instagram. The police responded to this quickly.
The "clown craze" has gone international as well. These clown sightings have been reported throughout the United Kingdom. In Scotland, clowns appeared on school grounds with bats, and they made malicious phone calls.
Ever since these clown sightings began, children have become scared of clowns and are hesitant to be in some public spaces. Others are even afraid of being on their own at home.
It is not clear why these clowns have become so popular or what drives them forward. One can only hope that they find the professional help that they need and that everyone remains cautious when dealing with these strangers.
The life of Luxury? Maybe Not!
Hotels may not be as clean as you thinkby Gracie A. What would you do if you found out that your hotel room wasn’t cleaned before you came. Yes its true, experiments and videos have been found and tested and the results, outrageous! The Inside EditionYouTube channel, has done twoexperiments on this. They wouldcheck into a room one day, then check out; the next day they would check back into the same room to see if the sheets, bathroom and counters were all cleaned, and the results were disgusting! The findings Included cigarette butts in non smoking rooms, insects and spiders inside and outside the beds, used Q-Tips, and in a worse case, a nitrous oxide canister! CBC News has also done some experiments, including the use of hidden cameras, the black light and more! In 2014, CBCchecked into 8 different hotels. After checking the rooms out and showing the managers and maids what they had found. After being told that they would take care of this problem, they came back a year later to see if that promise was fulfilled. The results were not much better than before. They discovered many things including toilets being washed inside out, sponges that washcups being put in the same bucket as a toilet scrubber and mold spread across the room! How disgusting! So, if your traveling during the holidays, beware of these hotel flops that could be in your room. However, here are some tips to help make your hotel experience just a bit cleaner!
Bring some wipes with you so you can wipe down toilet seats, remote controls and phones.
Bring slippers to wear in the room to prevent germs on your feet.
Try to bring as many of your own essentials as you can, like shampoo and conditioner, soap etc.
