Spring Break: By: Ivy. H Spring break is almost here and I think everyone can agree when I say we all deserve this time off from school. The break starts on March 24th which will be a half day instead of a full day like usual. The day before the break will be a full day, in replace of the half day on Friday. The break will be one week long and end on April 3rd. During this break we have time to do whatever we want, whether we're trying to finish up a tv series we really like, or we're hanging out with friends, it gives us some time to catch up on time with our friends and family! I hope you have so much fun this spring break, and take time to focus on yourself, as well as others!

Donald Trump By: Ivy. H
Donald Trump became America's 45th president on the 20th of January 2017, and it's shocking!I honestly thought Hillary Clinton would've been the 45th president, but here we are. Mr. Trump definitely has a lot of work to do now that he's in the Whitehouse, and I don’t think he's prepared for it. So far there has been so many protests all over America, and Canada! It's almost like nobody really wanted him as president! Funny, huh?
He's been going to the social media website known as Twitter, as an outlet to express how he feels about every little thing. Like the TVshow Saturday Night Live, who casts Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump. On the show, they do enjoy making fun of Mr. Trump and everything the media is saying about him. (see his tweets in the gallery below)
During his inauguration speechhe even quoted Bane from Batman, I mean, come on! Does that man have to ruin everything? Don't believe me? Here: https://youtu.be/Rl-vk52FAaw. Basically the exact same! Crazy, right? And we aren't even considering how his wife used Michelle Obama's speech! Can these people even come up with their own speeches?Who Knows?
Let's just say that Donald Trump isn't the best choice for the president of America in my mind, but don’t get me wrong, Harambe the gorilla isn't either. And yes, people did vote for a dead gorilla. I know, sad. But in the end we all still have to deal with 4 more years of Donald Trump and his ridiculous actions, so, good luck America! You're gonna need it!

Christmas Traditions By: Boomer K. Around the world different cultures, and religions, have different Christmas traditions. The near worldwide tradition is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Whereas the Chinese don’t really celebrate Christmas, they only put up lights, and trees, for tourist attraction in major cities. In Africa they don’t celebrate Christmas either. For Christians though, itis a big religion and celebrate the birth of Jesus. Although Christians, Jews, Muslims, and other religious groups celebrate during the Christmas holidays, they all have their own traditions. Traditions even change between families. For example, my family, usually has a dinner where family comes over. Then we just open presents like everyone else. No matter how you celebrate, I hope that you have a safe, restful, and happy Christmas.

Donald Trump Is becoming President By: Cooper G. Earlier this month it was 'the people's time to speak' or 'the people's turn to vote', That’s right, the United States of America had the presidential election of 2016. After many long nights and big debates it was finally time for the big decision, the decision of who America wants for president.
The way the election works in America is like this, each state has electoral votes (or points) and the amount of electoral votes is determined by the number of people in that state or in other words the population. To win a state you have to get the most votes in that state. You need to win enough states to get 270 points and the first party to do that wins. If you don’t know already Hillary Clinton had the most votes but that doesn’t mean she won. Sure Clinton had more (62,391,335 overall votes) but Donald Trump won the states with the most electoral votes such as Florida (29 electoral votes) and Texas (38 electoral votes). Trump had 61,125,956 votes overall which mean if it were Canada he would have lost.
"Half the country voted for him, so they have to accept that and follow him as president," said a Canadian man. President Obama announced that "[they] are all on the same team," urging Americans across the nation to work with their new President-Elect. "I still believe in America, and I always will" said Hillary Clinton in her concession speech.
In my own opinion I think that he is president and there is nothing to be done about it. Maybe he will surprise all of us and make America even better then it already is.

A Halloween Costume that Should Stay in the Closet by Dominick S
I don’t think that the Creepy Clown costume should be worn this year. There have been people across North America dressed in clown costumes who have been scaring children in many parks, school grounds, and neighbourhoods. Halloween is meant to be fun for children and not so frightening that that they want to stay home. There have been viral videos of clowns trying to lure children by wearing signs that say “Free Hugs, Come play with me.” Threats to schools have been made through social media and on video networks such as YouTube. Because of this, I feel that the clown costume should stay stored away in the closet for the time being. Maybe once people learn how to put the fun back into the day can it come out again, but for now, let’s all focus on having a happier time.
USA Federal Election By: Cooper G.
Safetyvs. equality? Money vs. environmentalcare? Whostands for what and who cares about the real issues? Donald J. Trump is probably someone you have heard of before because his promise to ban all Muslims at least temporarily, has taken the internet. He believes that the government of the United States of America should cut their spending down, create universal healthcare and grow the economy.Donaldis also a reality TV show star who has been on the hit show 'The Apprentice' and is a very intellectualbusinessman who owns many different companies that cover everything including hotels.Hillary Clinton on the other hand stands for her most notable 'equality between men and women'plan. She wants a green and happy energy system and also wants college students to reach their dream while also not having to worry about college loans and payments.
Donald Trump has plans to build a wall to divide the USA and Mexico keeping many immigrants out and away from the US. The wall would help build the economy because the amount of ICE officers needed would increase greatly giving many people paying jobs. In his mind, and many others as well, immigration is a privilege not a right. Obamacare should be replaced and exchanged with something new that allows you to go to different states and have the same health benefit. He also added that it should resemble something along the lines of what Canada has now. Hillary Clinton the former Secretary of State has the idea to ease the payfor college students loans giving them a chance to achieve their dreams even more than ever before without the stress of payments always stabbingthem in the back. Hillary'sapproach to immigration is that if people come here illegally than they should be able to become citizens but will however have to still pay a fine and learn the English language.
"Everyday Americans need a champion," Hillary Clinton said when she started her campaign,"and I want to be that champion." The quote was very inspiring and heartwarming for many people including those who are stuck in poverty. "Some people are tired of the election and would prefer that they would call it off" a Canadian citizen said. An American source added that it was a broken system where "one is an idiot who should listen/consult people and the other is a lying unethical, malicious person who should be in jail."
In my own opinion I think that if anybody's going to win it should be Hillary and if anybody is going to lose badly it should be Trump.
