This year's Spring Break is just around the corner and if you're like me and have nothing to do, this article has been made for you. If you keep reading, you will find ways to keep busy, stay away from boredom and power your excitement. In Edmonton, there are a lot of things to do to keep busy. One of the things that sounds really interesting to me is "Spring Break on the Square" and takes place at Sir Winston Churchill Square from March 27-31. There are a lot of activities to do there but here are some that stand out to me: Drop-in Basketball, Drop-in Street Hockey, and Painting the Square. You could also go to the 2nd Annual Sledge Hockey day at Millennium Place from 8am to 4pm on Saturday, March 24th. It's free admission but as it is a fundraising event, you can donate the amount of money that you are comfortable with. When you get there, you can cheer for any of the teams playing as it will be all sledge players. You can also go to the sledge hockey free skate on the pond, as well as other activities such as face painting, mini-stick hockey, and scooterboard hockey. There is one more activity that sparks in my mind and that is the GLOW Festival. It's a night parade where people are welcome to make their own hand-made lanterns for the theme of migration. You can walk with them with your own lanterns or if you don’t have any, they will provide you with something glowy. It starts at 7:30 Saturday, March 24th and goes from Boyle Street Plaza all the way down to Vignettes Building for a Super Spring Celebration.

Bullying By: Ivy. H
Bullying is an extremely serious topic that most people don't like to discuss, whether they don't feel like they have to, or they just don't have the courage to say something. Standing up to bullies is something that needs to happen more. Most people who are being bullied feel that they can't do something just because someone's trying to hurt them. They may feel scared or threatened, but they need to know that someone's there to help them. The thing is, those people need to speak out; you need to let someone know so that nothing else happens. It only gets worse when you don't tell someone, because they won't stop unless you show them you aren't afraid anymore. Bullies feed off of the fear of others, that's what drives them to continue hurting other people. It needs to stop, and it should stop now. No one deserves to be hurt like that, but it still happens.
The usual bystander is just as guilty as the bully, they stand there and watch it happen, but they never do anything. Students don't try to stand up for the victim. If you see someone being bullied it's your responsibility to help. You can't just expect that person to stop hurting people by standing there, you have to do something!
So speak out! Tell someone if you're suffering or if someone's hurting others, because no one should have to deal with it alone. There needs to be an end to all this, because what they're doing is wrong, so stand up against the bullies, and be there for the people you're close to because you don't know what they might be going through.

Tips for Last minute Christmas Shoppers! By Owen I.
Every year, you promise yourself you won't wait until the last minute to do your holiday shopping, but once again, it's the week before Christmas and you've barely gotten any gifts. Don't panic! Before you go into a desperate shopping frenzy, check out these tips for last-minute shoppers.
If you are looking for a fast solution to Christmas shopping and want to dodge all of the crowds you should consider online shopping. Most Retailers offer shipping 2-4 days before Christmas, and that’s just enough time for you to rap it and stash it under the tree.
Gift cards are also another way to excite the recipient and are easy to find. Sometimes it is hard to find that perfect gift and gift cards are a perfect solution for that. Plus, who does not like going on a shopping spree for there favorite toy/item.
Why not just ditch shopping? If you have a creative talent or simply just love to cook/bake why not create something the recipient will love. You can sculpt a vase or make them a batch of your famous cookies.
Clubs in school Article by: Diana E. Revised from Tyra Heise
At Mount Carmel we have few clubs. These include the newspaper club and the yearbook club. Both of these are similar in a way. That way being both of those are mostly writing so they are tied into ELA.Having an anime club would be mostly just for having fun, and a good time but if we do have to make it somewhat educational, I think it would be possible.
In this club we would watch anime and read manga but after we finished a series, we could write a reflection or a summary on it. After we have watched an episode we could summarize that episode. Doing this would improve our ELA skills in writing paragraphs, reflections, summaries, essays, and just basic writing or typing. When we read manga, we would strengthen our abilities to read for long periods of time and encourage ourselves to read more often. Most Japanese manga are read from right to left, so when we are reading manga, we are teaching ourselves something new about reading/how to read.
If this sounds like something that might interest you, keep an ear out for an announcement about when we will meet starting in January.

One way you can use these are by writing your homework on it throughout the day and at the end of the day when you are ready to go home you won’t forget anything. Using locker magnets are an easy way to keep your locker organized by keeping all your test and assignments that don’t have a spot in your binder off the floor of your locker. Locker magnets come in many different shapes and sizes from a regular magnet that is shaped like a circle to a magnet that is shaped like a box of fries.
